Mossy Creek "Club Day"

On Club day, each Mossy Creek Club and CTSO set up a booth highlighting its chapter and what it offers. You will have the opportunity to visit any and all booths to learn more about each organization and meet the advisors and current officers. Club day helps you decide which student organization is the right fit for you. There may be 1, 2 , 3, or 5 student organizations you want to join and the exciting part is, you don’t have to pick just one! We hope you come visit our FCCLA booth to learn how you can be part of the Ultimate Leadership experience by joining our FCCLA chapter and being an active member! We would love to meet you and tell you all about our great organization and what it has to offer! P.S. We may even have a sweet treat for you! Be sure to come visit!
Ice Cream Social

Become a paid member by Wednesday, August 15th and receive an invitation to our Ice Cream Social to kick off the beginning of an exciting new school year in our FCCLA chapter! You’ll learn more about opportunities that FCCLA provides, including upcoming chapter events, field trips and conferences. You will also get to mingle with old friends and make new ones! Oh Yes, and eat a lot of ICE CREAM! Bring a buddy along that has not become a member yet, but is eager to learn more about our organization! Hope to see you there!
Committees Meeting

Our FCCLA chapter would be nothing without the involvement and support of our members. Our FCCLA chapter created 3 separate committees to help develop and share creative ideas to implement our FCCLA National programs, plan chapter meetings, and community service projects. This meeting will provide information about each committee’s purpose so you can see which one suits you! Joining a committee is not required as a member, but it is a great way to develop leadership and communication skills while making a difference in your school in community. So, be sure to attend our Committees meeting to help kick off your Ultimate Leadership Experience in FCCLA! We hope to see you there!

Discover Training at Camp John Hope in Fort Valley, Georgia

Interested in becoming an officer? Let our advisor know so you can attend Discover Training to see what it takes to become a leader in your FCCLA chapter. You will gain more insight into the roles and duties of each officer position by attending several workshops throughout the day lead by the Region and State Officers. The Region and State Officers incorporate fun games and activities in the workshops to keep you entertained, engaged, and excited while providing you with valuable information on how to become the best chapter leader possible!
STAR Events Meeting

Do you love competing, traveling, or meeting new people? If your answer is yes, then STAR Events is the place for you! STAR events are projects are based on topics and concepts related to Family and Consumer Sciences. Typically, a STAR Event project will involve creating a display or portfolio about the FACS related concept, and presenting your project to a panel of judges at the Region STAR Events Competition. The top two high scoring teams advance to the State Leadership Conference, and the top two high scoring teams at the State Conference will advance to the National Leadership Conference. STAR Events can be a lot of work, but a lot of fun! We begin working on projects 2-3 months prior to the Region competition, meeting once a week, to allow you plenty of time to complete the project. During our STAR Event Workshops, you will receive guidance from your adviser and other members who have experience in these competitions. Several STAR Events categories provide the opportunity for you to work with a partner or a team and there are MANY FACS-related topics you can choose from. So if you like to travel, compete, meet new people, or just want to increase your confidence and public speaking skills, come to the STAR Events Meeting to learn more and we will help guide you through the process. And as always, snacks and drinks will be provided!
